We all want to live in a safe community, where we can walk down the street, go to the park, and be an active part of the community without fear. Cure Violence Global has proven repeatedly that it is possible to create safer communities – even in places that have suffered from violence for a long time.

Real solutions exist, and we can demand that our leaders implement the approaches that will help communities the most.  Today, thanks to a better understanding of the public health approach to reducing violence, cities are taking bold steps. Cities like Baltimore.

ABC News Live Features Cure Violence Site

ABC News Live spent the day with the Cure Violence site in the South Jamaica community in New York City, operated by the King of Kings Foundation.  The video offers an inside look at the work of interrupting violence and making communities safer.  "In our community, it's normal to hear gunshots every night. It's normal to come out of your house on any given day and see yellow tape," said Lance Feurtado, Founder and Executive Director of King of Kings Foundation.

Watch this amazing short profile of a Cure Violence site that is really making a difference.
